Jeffrey Wayne Sappington: Brother Jeff, a devoted minister and beloved family Man, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Born on September 14, 1966, in Joplin, Missouri, Brother Jeff dedicated his life to the ministry. He was a minister for 42 years, 30 of which were spent pastoring Gulfport Holiness Church. In the early part of his ministry, he taught at three Christian schools. He loved to encourage and mentor young men, especially young ministers. He served on the board of Dripping Springs Camp-meeting for 28 years. Brother Jeff loved preaching the gospel. He loved the Holiness people and counted it an honor to be numbered among God's people. Brother Jeff was known for his culinary skills, love of travel and the joy he found in fishing, especially during cherished outings with his grandsons. He loved being Pawpaw to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Melinda Sappington; his children, Caleb Sappington and wife Alisha, Lindsay Sparkman and husband Wesley, and Coleton Jones and wife MaKrae; his siblings, John Sappington and wife Lori and Jennifer Singley and husband EJ; his grandchildren, Kaiden Sappington, Kristopher Sappington, Stella Sparkman and Lilly Sparkman; as well as nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Brother Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Finis Russell Sappington, and his mother Peggy Lynn Sappington, whose memories will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation services will be held at Gulfport Holiness Church located at 15418 CC Camp Rd., Gulfport, MS, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on the same day, starting at 10:00 AM with a graveside service to follow services at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, 19361 28th St., Long Beach, MS.
Brother Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and commitment to service that will resonate through the lives he touched. His dedication to his family and church will not be forgotten.
