Jeffrey Brian Schwartz, 62, of Sachse, Texas, passed away on December 7, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He peacefully left this world surrounded by his loving family. A devoted father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend, Jeff brought joy, humor, and warmth to all who knew him.
He was born in Aurora, Illinois to Alvin Ray Schwartz and Alberta “Bertie” Jean Palmer on January 27th, 1963, and attended Plano High School, graduating in 1981. He moved to Texas in 1983 and started working at the City of Plano in the Parks Department in 1984.
Jeff retired this year after dedicating 41 years to the City of Plano Parks Department. He began his career as a maintenance worker in 1984 and, through hard work and commitment, advanced to the position of Park Superintendent. Throughout his tenure, Jeff devoted himself to serving the community, ensuring that city parks were well-maintained and welcoming for all who visited. His career stands as a testament to his dedication, leadership, and genuine care for the City of Plano. He lived life to the fullest: traveling the world with his wife Carla, camping with family, mountain biking, attending concerts, festivals, and family reunions, spending summers in the pool with his grandkids, and always seeking joy in each moment.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Al & Bertie Schwartz, his uncle Bill Palmer, aunts Evelyn Jane Schmitt and Karen Sue Seaux, and his brother-in-law Alex Tijerina. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carla Ramos Schwartz, his son, Patrick Schwartz, daughter-in-law Brittany, and his treasured grandsons, Logan and Cade. He is also survived by his brother Robert Schwartz and sister-in-law Edna, and their children Amy & her husband Gene Halsey, and Sarah & her husband Sebastian Thorn; his sister Nancy Schwartz; and her children Michael Tijerina and Steven & his wife Madison Alaniz; and his uncle Jerry & Lynn Palmer and their family.
His legacy is one of love, generosity, laughter, and a genuine appreciation for life.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the Rosary reading at 7:00 p.m., Thursday December 18th, 2025, at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home on 5th Street in Sachse, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on December 19th, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church off Jupiter in Richardson, TX.
