Jeffrey Wayne Stephens Sr., 61, of Indianapolis, passed away May 7th, 2024. He was born July 17th, 1962, in Indianapolis, to parents James Henry and Mary Jo (Dobbs) Stephens.
Jeffrey grew up in Indianapolis, attended Arsenal Tech High School and graduated from Howe.
He worked as a contractor with Sherman Williams Flooring for many years before retiring.
Jeffrey was a hardworking, loving gentleman. Incredibly handy, there was nothing he couldn’t fix or do. Music was a passion for Jeffrey, and he was an excellent singer and guitarist. You could often find him cruising on his Harley, or out in the garage working on his cars. He was a devoted father and Papaw and loved his family with all his heart.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Jeffrey is survived by his father James Stephens; children Jeffrey Stephens Jr., Brittany Stephens, and Jessica Stephens; mother of his children Peggy Stephens; grandchildren Davon and Desirae Davis, Connor, Xavier, Maverick, and Nova Dame; siblings Patsy Wills (The Late Davey Wills) and Kathy Rudolph (The Late Steve Rudolph); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Jo Stephens, and his brothers in law Davey and Steve.
Visitation for Jeffrey will be Saturday May 11th, from 11:30-2:30pm at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, 46229). His funeral will begin at 2:30pm and he will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
