Jeffrey Eugene Thach

Jeffrey Eugene Thach, age 64, of Aurora, Missouri, rode off into the sunset at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born August 10, 1960, in Aurora, the son of Earnest Jack and Mary Lou (Underwood) Thach.
Jeff was a 1979 graduate of Aurora High School and the owner of Thach Holdings LLC, as well as an investor. But more than that, Jeff lived life on his own terms-equal parts grit, charm, and old-school country wisdom. A true outlaw at heart, he was never one to back down from a challenge or take the easy road. Whether making deals, fixing up a project, or cruising a back road with Johnny Paycheck blaring, he carried himself with a quiet confidence that lets you know he meant what he said. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger, told the best stories, and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Jeff is survived by his son, Lucas Thach and wife, Brandy of Galena, Missouri; his sister, Sherrie Malone of Katy, Texas; his brother, Michael Thach and wife, Mona of Aurora, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jordan (Christina) Thach, Madison (Isaac) Christensen, Zoe Thach, Landon Thach, and Bishop Thach; one great-grandson, Theo Thach; five nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Christy) Thach of Webster Groves, Missouri, Spencer (Danielle) Thach of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Ellie Melissa McLean of Mansfield, Ohio, Star (Frank) Aufmuth of San Marcos, Texas, Cherish (Michael) Kim of Katy, Texas, and five great-nieces and nephews, Addison, William, Olivia, and Amelia Thach, and Vincent Kim. His loyal companion, Buck, will still be waiting by the door, wondering when he'll be home.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Lou, his nephew, Jack Michael Thach, and his brother-in-law, Wayne Malone.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at a later date at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
Jeff wouldn't want a long goodbye, just a cold drink, a good song, and a few stories shared among friends. So, crank up some Johnny Paycheck, tip your hat, and remember him as he was-bold, untamed, and forever free.
