Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Wolfe, 66, of New Providence, and formerly of Kirkwood, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Yvonne C. Wolfe.
Jeff graduated from Solanco High School in 1977. One of his first jobs during high school was milking cows at Shoemaker's farm. After graduation, he began his career as a truck driver, a profession he excelled in. Jeff often said he could drive anything. His first job was as a long-haul driver for Prange's, where he traveled across the country, showing a remarkable talent for reading maps. His final job was as a low-boy driver for DXI.
Jeff was a master storyteller, delivering tales in his signature Sam Elliott/Morgan Freeman voice. It was always a pleasure to sit with him and his friends as they swapped stories of life on the road, growing up in the Southern End, or debating current events. Jeff was also an avid reader, especially of books on the Civil War, Native American history, and Westerns by Louis L'Amour. He was rarely seen without the daily newspaper and a Sudoku puzzle. His favorite TV show was Gunsmoke, which he probably knew by heart.
A dedicated football fan, Jeff was loyal to the Las Vegas (formerly Oakland) Raiders. He also enjoyed attending drag races, watching car restoration shows, working on his Camaro, and taking pride in his lawn.
Jeff is survived by his son, Jordan Wolfe; his companion, Susie Charles; his aunt, Lois Lantz of Lancaster; his uncle, Robert Wolfe and wife Judy of Truce; and his grandchildren, Brianna, Miles, Riley, and Kylah Wolfe. He also leaves behind cousins Lynn Schnupp of Lancaster, Arden Lantz of DE, Stacey Missouri and husband Brandon of Shrewsbury, Nicole Beaden and husband Claude of FL, Sharron Purnell Mayer and husband Andrew of Philadelphia, along with many other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Jeff Wolfe will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Britain Hill Venue and Vineyard, 790 Little Britain Rd. N., Quarryville, PA 17566.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jeff's memory to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
