Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions - Kettering ChapelJeffrey S. Wright, born on March 1, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the age of 68. He is remembered as a passionate enthusiast of cars and music.
After graduating from Dayton Christian High School in 1975, Jeffrey embarked on a fulfilling career that would see him retire from General Motors after many years of service. In addition to his professional achievements, Jeffrey proudly served his country in the United States Army. His military service was a source of pride for him, reflecting his sense of duty and honor.
Jeffrey's passion for life extended beyond his career and military service. He was actively involved in various local hotrod and car groups in the Dayton area, where he forged strong connections with like-minded enthusiasts who shared his love for automobiles. His interest in music also played a significant role in his life, as he greatly enjoyed attending concerts and experiencing the joy of live performances.
Jeffrey is survived by his daughter, Autumn Wright; his sisters, Beverly (Steven) Peyton and Elvalyn (Gerald) Humston; his nephews and nieces, Matthew (Christi) Peyton and Aimee (Kervin) Velez; and his great-nephews and great-nieces, Cameron, Kylie, Matthew Jr., Kaleb and Hannah Peyton, and Ethan and Cayden Velez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Wright, Jr. and Elva (Newport) Wright.
Jeffrey S. Wright's legacy lives on through his family, friendships, and the indelible mark he made within his community. His spirited enthusiasm and dedication to both his family and passions will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be at 12:30PM on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. Family and friends may visit from 11:30AM until the time of service. Jeffrey will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery where US Army Honors will be rendered.
