Jeffrey L. Zinnel, age 67, of Jolley, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from heart complications, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Jeffrey Lee Zinnel was born on March 13, 1958, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Marvin and Darleen (Fouts) Zinnel. He was educated in Pomeroy schools, graduating from Pomeroy High School in 1976. Jeff did construction work for a short time before engaging in farming. He was united in marriage to Cheryl O'Tool in Pomeroy. From this union two children were born, Abby and Austin. They lived in the Pomeroy and Jolley area. Jeff was then united in marriage to Colleen Lynch in Knoke. The couple lived on the farm near Jolley with Colleen's children, Paul and Jessica. They later divorced and Jeff continued to live on the farm.
Jeff was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing pool, bowling and collecting rocks. He also liked to tell jokes and give away candy.
Survivors include his two children, Abby (Jason) Ackerman of Stansbury Park, UT and Austin (Kinsey) Zinnel of Dakota City; grandchildren, D. J. - Colton - Olivia - Mia - Bailey - Christian and several others; his mother, Darleen Zinnel of Pomeroy; siblings, Becky Meyer of Norwalk, Deb (Don) Greene of Knoke, Shelley (Orlen) Greene of Rapids City, IL, Doug (Kelli) Zinnel of Pomeroy and Tammy O'Tool of Norwalk and many nieces & nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Marvin and a brother-in-law, Pat Meyer.
