DONNA, TX - Jehu Vasquez, 54, passed away on August 27, 2025, at Knapp Medical Center surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, loyal son and brother, and a man of unwavering faith. Born on April 21, 1971, Jehu lived a life grounded in kindness, humor, and his deep love for Jehovah.
Jehu's life was a shining example of faith in action. He dedicated himself to Jehovah, allowing his beliefs to guide every decision and action. Every weekend, he preached and shared the word of Jehovah, often accompanied by his family. After their ministry work, they would enjoy one of his favorite pastimes-fishing. Those peaceful moments by the water, shared with his wife, son, and sometimes his siblings, became treasured family traditions. To his son, Jehu was more than a father-he was a teacher, mentor, and source of strength. He taught him to fish, shave, ride a bike, drive, and, most importantly, to live with integrity. He often reminded his son to "leave things better than you found them," a philosophy he lived by every day. His siblings remember him as the leader of the pack, a loving and firm brother, especially during childhood games-turning the living room into a wrestling arena with pillows. His joyful spirit, love of socializing, and comforting smile made him the heart of every gathering. He had a particularly close bond with his brother, sharing a love for basketball, dancing, and great music. Jehu's favorite meals were BBQ and seafood. He worked in HVAC for over 30 years, proudly graduating from TSTI in 1992 with an associate degree. He was a skilled professional, but more importantly, he was a man who always sought to help others, putting Jehovah first. Jehu Vasquez leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and guidance. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his words, wisdom, and example will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Elizabeth Vasquez, whom he met at the Kingdom Hall; their only son, Jehu Vasquez II; his mother, Maria Luisa Vasquez; and his siblings, Matusalem Vasquez, Jemina Vasquez, and Adhasa Treviño.
Jehu is preceded in death by his father, Jose Santos Vasquez.
