Jennie Marie Ball, age 98, died peacefully on January 22, 2024. Her beloved daughters were with her every step of the way and were with her when she passed. Jennie was born to Clay and Viola Gee on December 18, 1925 at home in Vinton, Ohio. She was raised in Linworth, Ohio and graduated from Worthington High School in 1943. After graduation, she worked in downtown Columbus for the Hill's Company. She married Robert Ball on October 19, 1952. The early years of their 70 year marriage were devoted to raising and caring for her family. She eventually returned to work for JC Penney where she retired after many years of service. After retirement, she worked part-time at The Ohio Historical Center until she was 80 years old. She was proceeded in death by her husband Bob Ball on April 7, 2023, her parents Clay and Viola Gee, her sister Elizabeth Cloeen Gee and her stepmother Helen Waldorf Gee. In addition, many aunts, uncles, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws and her grandson-in-law Tyler Cullinan proceeded her. Surviving family includes daughters Nancy (John) Snowden of Hilliard and Carol (Greg) Wieland of Columbus. Grandchildren are Kurt (RaeAnna) Wieland of Grandview, Megan (Mike) Wright of Worthington, Eric (Catie) Snowden of Columbus and Elizabeth Snowden Cullinan of Reynoldsburg. Great-grandchildren are Henson and Ansel Wieland and Mack and Macy Wright. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Jennie's family was her world and she delighted in each new addition either by marriage or birth. She will be missed by all of them as they hold her and Bob in their hearts forever. Many thanks to the staff at The Ashford at Sturbridge and Capital City Hospice for their care of our parents. Special mention to Katie Bliss of Capital City Hospice as she served as a guiding light through this process for Mom and Dad. Services will be Saturday, January 27 at 11:00 at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home in Worthington where family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of service. The burial will be at Union Cemetery immediately following. Condolences may be made to the family at www.rutherfordfuneralhome.com
