Jennie Lynn Phifer, 68, of Boyd, a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend to many went to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 27, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jennie was born on July 12, 1957, to Donald Ely and Nancy Ellen Buck in Texas City, Texas. Jennie was united in marriage to Johnny Lynn Phifer on August 24, 1985, in Gainesville, Texas. Jennie was a loving wife, mother and Mamo whose life revolved around her family; she always made sure everyone was taken care of. She loved to capture the beauty of her family, her home, animals and her adventures with her husband through photography and organizing them into digital albums and folders. When she wasn’t traveling or spending time with her family, she enjoyed pouring her creativity into craft projects and meticulous planning and organizing events with family and friends, with a spreadsheet or a to-do list for almost anything imaginable. Jennie was a teacher at Bethesda Christian School beginning in 1996 (where her daughter attended) until she retired in 2015 to take care of her grandchildren. Jennie loved animals, especially her cows now that she had a home in the country. Jennie loved the Lord, loved to laugh and make jokes, find humor in every circumstance and gave the best hugs to everyone she met. Jennie had her many hobbies and love of animals, but her family was her forefront, and they all have many memories to cherish; she will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her father Donald Ely; her brothers Marcus Ely and Michael Ely; her stepfather Bill Norcross.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 40 years Johnny Lynn Phifer of Boyd; her daughter Haley Morgan Trainer and husband Jared of Boyd; her son Brett Phifer and wife Lauren of Woolmarket, MS; her grandchildren Rylee Trainer, Drew Trainer, Austin Phifer, Logan Phifer and Anna Katelynn Phifer; her mother Nancy Ellen Norcross of Springtown; her step brother Billy Norcross and wife Glenda of Dallas; her niece and nephews Shannon Gibson, Matthew Ely and Jonathan Ely; Along with numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
