Jennie Zaharis

Jennie Zaharis a life-long Stamford resident, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the age of 97. She was born March 28, 1927 in Newark, NJ.
She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Demetra Linardakis and by the love of her life, her husband, Vasilios Zaharis as well as her sister Anastasia Paras and husband Basil. Her brothers; Nicolas Linardakis, Harry Linardakis and his wife Susie.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Schreiber and her husband Donald as well as her Sister-in-Law Mary Poulos, and cherished Grandchildren; Alyssa and Mark Deangelis, William Schreiber, Erika Schreiber, Donald Schreiber III, Michael and Haylie Schreiber. Jennie had five great grandchildren: Addison, Harper, Owen, Everly, and Noah. She also had many loving nieces and nephews; Thomas and Kathy Paras, Corinne and Greg DeGennaro, Pammy and Michael Carakatsane, Mimi and Pater Manos, Rhea and George Koshivas, Jimmy, Billy, Charlie, Amanda Koshivas, Pauline and Nick Kounavelis, PJ Kounavelis, Libby Manos, Alexandra and Matt Lemary, Michael and Mallory DeGennaro, Frankie and Katie DeGennaro. great nieces and nephews; Anastasia, Alexander, Luca, Violet, and Eleni.
Jennie loved her family and was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved going to Church and participated in the ladies Philoptachos Society and Seniors Group. She was very proud of her Greek Heritage and enjoyed making her mother's favorite recipes to keep the family tradition alive. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in our hearts forever as we remember her for the legacy she instilled in each of us, her servant's heart and her hospitality.
The family will be receiving the sympathy and condolences of friends and family on Monday, October 28th from 4pm to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. The funeral service will be Tuesday, October 29th at 11am at the Church of Archangels, 1527 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT. The interment will immediately follow at Fairfield Memorial, 230 Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford, CT.
