Dateline: Glenville
Jennifer Marie Grandy, passed away suddenly on August 11, 2024, at the age of 54. Born on August 6, 1970, Jen's life was one of vibrancy, love, and selfless generosity that touched everyone she knew.
Jen grew up in a bustling household, the cherished daughter of the late James and Kathleen (Moffett) Grandy Quinn, and the late stepfather, Peter Quinn. Her life was enriched by the love and camaraderie of her siblings: James, Shawn and his wife Peggy, Lori and her late husband Michael, Susan and her husband Billy, Kacey and her husband Mark, Pam and her husband Frank, Patty and her husband Tim, Kyle and his wife Kim, and Michael. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Rebecca Grandy, and her partner, Breanna Aunchman, who she cherished more than anything. Jen's longtime companion, Jim, stood by her as a pillar of support and love. Her family circle was vast, including her step siblings Lynda, Kelly and her husband Porter, Bradley and his wife Claire and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will remember her for her boundless energy and loving nature.
Professionally, Jen dedicated her talents to General Electric, where her strong personality and magnetic presence made her a valued employee and a friend to many. Her colleagues respected her work ethic and were often uplifted by her infectious spirit.
Jen's passions were as diverse as they were profound. A lover of music, she found joy in the melodies that filled her home and heart. Her enthusiasm for the New York Giants was well-known, and game days were always a special time for her. Animals held a special place in Jen's life, especially her beloved pets, Brooklyn and Peanut, who were her constant companions and brought her immeasurable happiness.
Not only was Jen an amazing cook, but she also had a green thumb, taking pride in her vegetable garden that not only nourished the body but the soul as well. Friends and family were often the recipients of her culinary creations and the harvest from her garden, as she was always generous with the fruits of her labor.
Those who knew Jen would attest to her being a true spitfire. Her strong and magnetic personality drew people in, and her selfless nature meant she was always the first to offer help. She had a heart as big as her smile, and her generosity knew no bounds. Jen's love for others was unconditional, and she gave of herself freely and without expectation.
Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and selflessness. Jen's spirit, characterized by her willingness to give and her ability to love unconditionally, will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Calling hours for Jen will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11 am at St. Joseph's Church, 231 2nd Street, Scotia, NY. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
