With love and sadness, we share that our dear Jennifer Lynn Johnson passed away in the early hours of July 5, 2025, at the age of 48.
Though her family was told she would face significant limitations, Jenny defied expectations with quiet determination. She overcame challenges that once seemed impossible, finding her own way to move through the world and connect deeply with those around her. Her strength and perseverance were a constant source of inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Jenny attended school at SEDOM, where she was active and served as a cheerleader. She was also a member of the Pioneer Center, participating in both employment and recreational activities that enriched her life. Jenny spent many years as a resident of the Ann Kiley Center and later attended other community programs that supported her in adulthood. At every stage, she showed her family and caregivers what it meant to love deeply and live with grace.
She spent countless hours working on puzzles, not just as a pastime but as a way to express her creativity. Jenny took great joy in carefully framing the puzzles she completed and gifting them to her loved ones, turning each piece into a lasting reminder of her affection and thoughtfulness.
Jenny was preceded in death by her loving parents, Marilyn (née Miller) and John Johnson Sr. She is survived by her siblings: John Johnson (Mindy), Kimberly Krebs (Mike), Kelly Jensen, and Tracey Tillman. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews - Alexis, Zach, Taylor, and Kyle - and her great-niece and nephews, Jax, Millie, and Cal, all of whom will remember her with love.
A service to honor her life will be held on Friday, July 18th. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry, IL. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Countryside Cemetery. All who knew and loved Jenny are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
