Jennifer Rose Martin

Jennifer Rose Martin, born January 9, 1979, in Lexington, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly at St. Joseph Hospital in Berea on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late David Martin and Linda Kay Allen. Jennifer had a heart full of compassion always ready to help someone and a spirit rooted in kindness. She formed deep bonds with animals, especially her treasured sidekicks-cats Chester and Sylvester, and her beloved pig Sammy. Whether tending to her flowers, walking barefoot in the creek, or simply sitting under the open sky, she found beauty and peace in nature's quiet moments. More than anything, Jennifer cherished time spent with her family, lazy days on the couch with her daughter watching "beaches"(her favorite movie), tanning beds, and nothing brought her more joy than sharing a meal around a full table filled with laughter, love, and the comfort of togetherness.
Jennifer is survived by her loving children, Monica Marcela Meza Chavez of Lexington, Blanca Margarita Meza Chavez of Nicholasville and Collin Reed of Lexington; her devoted boyfriend, Leonel M. Olguin; her cherished nieces Destiney Meza, Marcela Meza, Maria Meza, Gable Lee Martin, Gunner Martin, Brooke Martin ; her brother, Cecil (Cathy Sparks) Martin of Versailles; and her adored grandchildren, Sol Meza, Luna Meza, Ryker Doolin, and Maria Jose Doolin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her "Loving Mother" Margarita Meza and her Nanny Lou. Jennifer's warmth, resilience, and ability to make people feel seen when they felt invisible left a remembering mark on everyone she met. Her laugh could fill a room, her hugs could quiet storms, and her spirit left sparks in every life she touched. Her memory will live on in the lives of those who loved her, in every bloom that catches the sun, and in every quiet ripple of the creek she so dearly loved.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm following visitation. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery where pallbearers will be Leo Olguin, Jose Meza, Monica Meza, Destiny Meza, Blanca Meza, Cecil Martin and Uncle Bub.
