Jennifer O'Connor Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 30, 2024.
RALEIGH - Jennifer Susan O'Connor, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on May 22, 2024.
Jennifer was born in 1971 in Kansas City, Missouri. From that moment on, Jennifer's life was devoted to sharing her love and helping those around her.
She found her calling as an attorney, and after graduating from Campbell University School of Law in 1998, Jennifer went into practice at the law firm of Andy Holland, Jr., which later became the law firm known as Holland & O'Connor. It was there that she became a devoted advocate for the welfare of children, culminating in her role as a deputy county attorney for Johnston County, NC, in January 2024.
Volunteering was near and dear to Jennifer's heart. She was a volunteer with the StepUp Ministry for 14 years and dedicated herself specifically to their Children's Program. She loved her StepUp children and would spend her spare time every week to help them and make them happy. Jennifer was also an active member of the Junior League of Raleigh since 2009.
When she wasn't busy giving her time to others, Jennifer loved traveling, spending time with friends, going to the beach, baking, shopping, and Hallmark movies. Above all, her most avid pursuit was to add to her famous collection of purses. She would never pass up an opportunity to shop for a beautiful handbag – or help her friends find one too.
Jennifer was a beautiful person inside and out. Her laughter and smile filled the room with love and joy. We all had our own special name to call her – she was known as J, Jen, Jennifer, Aunt J, and each one of us held her in our own way in our hearts. She filled so many roles for everyone around her. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a volunteer, and an advocate who would always do all that she could to love those around her. She will be forever missed.
Jennifer leaves behind her parents, Dennis and Beth O'Connor; her sister, Kelly Evans and her husband, King; her nephews, Conor and Davis Evans; her aunts and uncles, Julie and Roger Parent, John O'Connor, John and Debra Sproule and their son, Brian; her cousins, Carrie Letchworth and her husband, Dave, Jessie Darkenwald and her husband, Drew, Kim Paterson and her husband, Jay and their children, Kate and Jack, Bethann Bell and her children, Emma and Nick; and her parents' beloved dog, Elle. Most importantly, Jennifer's love expanded to her many dear friends who she leaves behind and will always be considered part of our family.
