Mr. Howard Dufaye Bridges, Jr., age 91, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Transitions Hospice Home in Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home 90 W. Stewart Street, Coats, NC 27577. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Coats Global Methodist Church in Coats, NC. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00PM, at Mark's Creek Presbyterian Church near Hamlet, NC. Rev. Paul Cecil will officiate.

Mr. Bridges was born on May 1, 1934 in McCormick County, SC, to the late Howard Dufaye Bridges, Sr., and Ruby Washburn Bridges. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Tracy Edward Bridges, and a sister, Rachel Massey. Mr. Bridges was a US Air Force Veteran, serving as a Captain. Following his military service, he retired as a maintenance supervisor with AT&T in Raleigh, NC. He was a member of Coats Global Methodist Church in Coats, NC. Mr. Bridges enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and computers. However, most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Myrtle Norton Bridges; children, Jeffrey Todd Bridges and wife, Kerri of Raleigh, NC, Janet Laton Arnold of Coats, NC, Darryl Wayne Laton and wife, Sharon of Wake Forest, NC, and Diana Laton Sawyer, and husband, Frankie of Grantsboro, NC; grandchildren, Cameron, Claire, Stephanie, Joshua, Shepherd, Daniel, Blaine, Nicholas, Justin, Shawna, Mack, Eli, and Sunny; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Stephen of Texas; and brothers, Billy Bridges and Dean Bridges both of Alabama; many nieces and nephews.

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
