Jenny Lee Fahringer

Jenny L. (King) Fahringer, 78, of Little Meadows, PA, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a long struggle against Alzheimers, at Mercy House of the Southern Tier. Jenny was born in Endicott, New York to the late Andrew and Lauretta (Sullivan) King, and was predeceased by an infant sister. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Charlie "Dudley" Fahringer, a partnership based on laughter, loyalty, and love; two daughters and son-in-law, Theresa and James Aquilina, Gretchen Fahringer; son, Chad Fahringer and his wife, Lauren Culley; two granddaughters, Sophie Fahringer, Alice Aquilina; two brothers and sister-in-law, Paul King, David and Gail King; two sisters, Billie Rose Duffek, Kay Marie Hess; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jenny graduated from Vestal High School and began her Secretarial career at IBM for several years. She then decided to raise a family and be a stay-at-home mom. During those years, she worked as an office manager at various employers and also was proud to have served and guided the Little Meadows Borough Council as Secretary/Treasurer for over 38 years, longer than anyone in Little Meadows history. Jenny was truly a partner in every sense, as she enjoyed so many activities with her husband, especially traveling and camping throughout the U.S., but maybe not so much their 'road trip' to Alaska. Among her favorites were Ocean City, MD, Marco Island, FL and Seattle area, where Chad would give grand tours. She taught her daughters the arts of canning, freezing, cooking, gardening and baking. At various times she would help raise pigs, a beef cow, chickens, ducks, and honey bees. Her jest for life knew no bounds, and was willing to go anywhere and try everything , especially outdoor activities. Among her favorites were dining, dancing, beachcombing, visiting lighthouses and fishing, from Florida to Canada and for over 40 years, she was after the largest Northern Pike at Black Lake.

But most of all, Jenny loved her family very much and strived to be a joyous wife and mother, and to support her children and grandchildren through all their school activities and life events.

Jenny lived her life as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to all.

The family would like to thank Mercy House for their compassionate care in her final days, as well as her Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Guthrie, Dr. Rana Ahmad, and long-time friend, Cindy Fasulo for home care.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. with A Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal, NY with Rev. Richard Prior, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Little Meadows, PA, in the Spring. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made in Jenny L. Fahringer's memory to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760. The family is being assisted by the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home.
