It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Jenny Sonja Petrowski, 75, of Wayne, N.J. on February 3, 2025.

Born on August 21, 1949, in Munchen, Germany, she came to the United States in 1956. Jenny was the daughter of the late Mathilde Botti. Throughout her life, Jenny was known for her strong will, wit, kindness, strength, and devotion to her friends and family. She had a love for animals, sunshine, hats, and caring for her tomato plants. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community at Edward Sisco Village in Wayne.

Jenny is survived by her three children, Ann McKay and her husband Martin of Wayne, Dawn Burrafato and her husband John of Oakridge, Anthony Petrowski and his wife Maria of Kearny; four beloved grandchildren, Lucia, Carmelo, Aidan, and Evan; three brothers, Glen D'ura, Edward D'ura, and Ricky Botti; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Craig Botti.

A heart that fought bravely, a soul that touched many, a life that will be deeply missed. Forever in our thoughts, always in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held with details to be forthcoming. Arrangements are under the guidance of Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at gaitamh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wayne Animal Shelter or Preakness Reformed Church would be appreciated. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jenny, please visit our floral store.
