Obituary – Jerald Grant Adcock, Sr. - 9-30-39 to 12-17-25
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who made his peaceful journey to heaven yesterday. He had been in rehabilitation and was not doing well, and though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing he is now at rest.
Born in 1939 in the rural town of
Yazoo City, Mississippi, he was raised on a small farm alongside his five siblings. Those early years shaped his strong work ethic, humility, and quiet strength-qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
After graduating from high school, he proudly served four years in the United States Navy, where he trained as an electrician. During his service, he met his first wife, and in 1960 they married and settled in Baltimore, Maryland. He built a lifelong career in the electric motor repair business, working diligently to provide for his family until his retirement in 2006.
A devoted father to four sons, he was deeply proud of his children and the lives they built. Though quiet and reserved by nature, he was known for his friendly spirit, calm demeanor, and warm smile. He was a man who led by example-a mentor, role model, and steady presence to those who knew him.
He spent most of his life in the Baltimore area, with shorter periods living in Yazoo City and Gautier, Mississippi. In his later years, he embraced adventure, spending a year and a half enjoying the beauty and culture of Thailand. He found joy in simple pleasures, especially fishing and playing cards, hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: MJ Adcock, Barbara McGinty, Frances Adell Moore, Billy Adcock, Sr., and Lucy McCaslin; and by his son, Paul Adcock. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, who passed in 2006. Blessed to find love again, he remarried in 2007 and was widowed a second time in 2017.
He is survived by his loving sons, Jerry Adcock, Jr. and wife Melissa Adcock, John Adcock, and Steve Adcock; nine cherished grandchildren-Trey Adcock, III and wife Rachael Adcock, Jordon Adcock, Jessica Gallucci and husband Michael Gallucci, Judson Adcock, Jewel Adcock, Drew Adcock and wife Gabriella Adcock, Blake Adcock and partner Shawnae Brown, Hunter Adcock, and Isabella Adcock; and four adored great-grandchildren-Violet Marylena Gallucci, Samuel Charles Gallucci, Lilly Grace Adcock, and Callum Nash Adcock. He also leaves behind countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and steady presence.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We ask that you please keep him and our family in your prayers during this difficult time.
