Jerald I. Friedman, 89, born 1936 in Allentown, PA, died March 12, 2026. Jerry died with his family by his side.

Jerry graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to work as a property manager for many years for Stratford Associates. His true passion was airplanes and building model airplanes and he opened his own hobby shop in 1986, named Banner Hobbies in Berlin, CT. Up until his passing, Jerry was an avid people person who continued to work in retail and sales.

Jerry served in the Army and enjoyed telling stories of his basic training and time in the service.

Jerry was a man for all seasons. He had a lifelong love of aviation, the Brooklyn Dodgers, avid tennis player up until his passing, his dogs, children, world history, classical music and passionate about Jewish culture.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Andrea Friedman of Newington, CT, his three children, Daniel J. Friedman, Brian Friedman, Debra Raviv (Khen Raviv), all of West Hartford, CT. Lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren, Maxell Friedman (Emily Friedman), Jordan Friedman, Shae Friedman, Izabella Raviv, Ella Rose Friedman, Eden Raviv and Troy Raviv.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Emmanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, CT 06117. Burial immediately following the service at Emmanuel Cemetery in Wethersfield, CT.

Shiva will be held at his daughter and son-in-law’s home, 15 Proctor Drive, West Hartford, CT 06117. Beginning Sunday, March 15 from 4-7:30PM and March 16-19 from Noon-2PM and evening service from 4-7:30PM.
