Jerald Golley Obituary

Jerald Golley (Jerry), age 60, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family on September 18, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jerry was born in Hamilton, NY and grew up in Morrisville, NY. He joined the Unites States Army in 1982. He entered United States Military Academy West Point in 1984 where it was discovered that he had leukemia. After a successful bone marrow transplant in 1987 he finished college at SUNY Oneata and a masters degree at SUNY Binghamton. He first moved to DC to start his career in technology, working at National Geographic and AMS. He then moved to Colorado and started his own successful technology firms, AMI Visions and Merchant Engine. In 2009, he returned to DC to finish his career as a public servant working at Commodities and Futures Trading Commission and Farm Credit Administration. He retired in 2024 to focus on his health and family.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose optimism and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. He lived life with gratitude and abundance, always finding joy in the everyday and sharing it with those around him. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to take risks and live life to it’s fullest, from getting his helicopter license, skydiving, scuba diving and traveling. He enjoyed volunteering with the Leukemia And Lymphoma Socitey, the Lions Club and the American Legion. He embraced change as a way to grow and looked forward to the future and all it would bring.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa, their two daughters, Jaelynn and Annaliese, who were the pride and joy of his life, his siblings Rick Golley (Marcy), Philip Golley (Kim), Patricia Richmond (Jeff), Kenneth Golley, Beverly Howlett (Pete), Roger Golley, Jeff Golley (Kelly), Barbara Golley (Dean Simmons) and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Barbara Golley, brother Steve Golley and Leonard Golley.
