Jeremiah Schempf Obituary

Published by David Lee Funeral Home & Cremation Services from Aug. 3 to Aug. 5, 2007.
Schempf, Jeremiah Mark Departed for his final journey on his 29th birthday, 1 August 2007. Born in Minneapolis to parents Richard and Diana and big sister Heather on 1 August 1978. Preceded in death by grandparents, Harold Schempf, Peggy and Harvey Kuhnley, and uncle, Jerry Rowlette. Survived by grandmother, Theda Carroll; mother, Diana Schempf; father, Richard Schempf; and sister, Heather ( Schempf ) Volpe. He also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and the joys of his life; niece, Peyton Taylor ( PT ) Volpe and nephew, Braxton ( Mr. B ) Matthew Volpe. PT and Mr. B were the love and pride of his life; and they will miss him dearly. Jeremiah was the gentlest of soles with an enormous passion for his family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved being a fan. He always treasured the childhood summer trips to Colorado to camp and play. We will forever miss him as we search the heavens for his star.... while knowing that he is shining down upon us. He will be remembered and loved by all those he touched. Our lives have been truly blessed in the short time he was among us. We will never forget the overwhelming gift of love that he gave to all. May his journey be peaceful and may he find the comfort and contentment that he so much desired. Visitation is from 4-7 PM on Sunday 5 August 2007 at the David Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata MN. Dear Sweet Jeremiah...
Five years ago today our lives changed for ever more....

I don't think you would even recognize the life you use to know....

One really good thing that has come to us, is your big sisters happiness. She found her soul mate and she is happy, she is strong, she is loved!!!!!

Your dad is where he wants to be... Granny is ill, they are blessed to have this time together....

Me??? Well, you know.....

I love you my son and hold you close in my dreams and in my heart... One day, my arms will be holding you!!!!

Der Jeremiah,
It is with a heavy heart I write today. My words of love to you, I must say.

You left this world, as we all know. You must move on, I have to let yo go.
My heart screams with each thought of you. But this is important, something I must do.
The Angles came telling me it is time to set you free. You have much to do and much to see.

With tears in my eyes and a pain in my heart, it is time to say good bye, It is time that we must part.

You have work to do and so do I... To say I don't miss you is surly a lie.
But, in this life I still must grow, In your life you have much to do and much to know.

I release you My Son, knowing we will be together again, when my work is done..

I love you Jeremiah Mark. I always will. I will see you in my dreams, when day becomes dark!!!!

Jeremy - it's about a week from your 32nd birthday, and I just want you to know that I still think about you every day and miss you dearly. My life has changed a lot since I last saw you...I've got a beautiful wife, Cheryl, who I wish you could meet. I know you'd love her... I talk about you all the time. We have a big home in Coon Rapids and two dogs to enjoy the huge yard. I just finished school (again) with a machine technology degree and I think I have a good career going. Anyway...I hope you've found what you were looking for, I'll see you on the first of August. All my love, Corey.

To all those who have loved Jeremiah please always remember him eternally for his compassion, his gentleness, his caring, and his enormous gift of love. Remember him for the good times and not dwell on the sad times. Be thankful for him having been in our lives as we are all now a little bit better person, a little more understanding, a little more tolerant, a little more forgiving, with a whole lot more appreciation of what we are now missing. Jeremiah’s soul and spirit lives in us all and will forever. We are truly the fortunate ones but selfishly still want more. Jeremiah chose to end his pain for his own reasons and to watch over all of us as well. We should never forget nor hold anger for the ultimate price he paid for surely he had always wished and struggled to be free. How many times have we all said “ I could have done more “. How many “ what if’s “ will never be realized. Only God as Jeremiahs savior has those answers. Jeremiah is absolutely where he yearned to be and the heavens have been blessed as well. We all miss him dearly and will forever cherish and remain faithful to his memory. May his journey continue to bring him happiness and contentment and may we all meet again someday in Jeremiah’s world. Peace and Love Jeremiah.

I will miss you and all the wonderful times we had. We had the most wonderful talks that I think helped us both out. I don't know if you thought of this but, you saved my life the day you met me at the VA and took my car keys away from me and walked me into Urgent Care to my journey for sobriety. I've been clean now for 3.5 years and I owe that to you. I wanted to keep on going but you said it's time to surrender. I lost touch of you as I was trying to get my life together and I'm so,so, sad to say that that was the last day I saw you alive. It hurts my heart that I didn't keep in touch but, you knew how much you meant to me in my life. I will forever miss you but, I will never forget you. ILY, Jerry

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE YOU EACH
