Henninger, Peggy Elvehjem age 94, of Wayzata passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. Born in Madison, Wisconsin on May 31,1931 to Conrad and Constance (Waltz) Elvehjem, Peg

graduated from West High School-Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BS

in Home Economics in 1953. Peg worked at Oscar Mayer and General Mills in the Betty Crocker Kitchens until starting a family, and then worked as a free-lance home economist for many years. Peg married Calvin Henninger in 1959, and they enjoyed 55 years

together until his death in 2014. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Peg was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Robert Elvehjem. Survived by her children, Laurel (Craig) Diede and Charles (Christine) Henninger and grandchildren, Justin, Noah and Shelby Henninger. She was a 64-year member of Wayzata Community Church where she served as a Stephen's Minister, Deacon and on many boards and committees. She was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood (Chapter CQ) for over 70 years and TCHC (Twin City Home and Community) for many years. She also volunteered in other organizations through the years. Peg enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially loved being at the family cottage in Door County, Wisconsin. The Henninger family would like to thank the residents and staff at Folkestone who made the last few years of Peg's life so enjoyable, and particularly the staff of the Gables who lovingly cared for her the past few months.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Wayzata Community Church, 125 East Wayzata Blvd. Memorials preferred to Wayzata Community Church, University of Wisconsin Foundation or donor's choice.
