Jeremy Brent Gowan

Jeremy "Brent" Gowan, 48, of Marietta, South Carolina, passed away on October 16, 2025. Born in Greenville, SC, on November 28, 1976, he was the son of Dennis Gowan and Cathey Fleming.
Brent was a devoted father who loved his children deeply and always sought to provide for them. He had a playful and silly side, filling Saturday mornings with music and self-made lyrics that brought laughter to the household. He took pride in helping with his kids' school projects showing his creativity and willingness to go the extra mile.
A skilled and dedicated heavy machine operator, Brent spent many years at Strange Bros. Grading and later worked a variety of jobs, earning respect for his expertise, precision, and tireless work ethic. He approached every task with pride and care, and those who worked with him admired his skill and reliability.
Outside of work, Brent was artistic and creative, with a natural talent for drawing in his early years. He loved being outdoors-whether hiking through the woods, fishing, or spending time target shooting with his kids. He felt most at peace surrounded by nature.
Brent was a man of faith who believed deeply in God. His lively personality, helpfulness, and sense of humor was what others loved about him.
Part of his unique sense of humor could be seen in the loving nicknames he gave his children-he called his son Noah "Buddy Bear," his daughter Avah "Baby Bear," and his daughter Hannah "Foreign Baby Squirrel."
He was survived by his children, Hannah Cuttill, Noah Gowan, and Avah Gowan; his parents, Dennis Gowan and Cathey Fleming; and his sisters, Carrie Gowan, Jenna Toppe, and Savannah Gowan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Heath Gowan.
A receiving of friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.
Brent will be remembered for his loving heart, playful spirit, unwavering work ethic, and the joy he brought to his family and friends. His family finds peace in knowing he has found comfort and healing with his Savior in heaven.
