Jeremy Allen Ogden was born on January 3, 1984, in Dearborn County, Indiana, the cherished son of Gregg and Monica (Vankirk) Ogden. He grew up in Osgood, where he brought joy to all who knew him from the time he was a toddler. His parents were well known around town, seen nightly walking while Jeremy followed on his bike or Power Wheels. He was a familiar face around the neighborhood, always smiling, always moving.

Jeremy loved his small-town roots. He enjoyed playing sports—especially basketball and baseball—and had a deep appreciation for the camaraderie that came with being part of a team. After graduating Jac-Cen-Del High School, Jeremy explored his college options and ultimately chose Indiana University (IU).

He became a math teacher, committed to helping students at all levels, from those excelling academically to those with special needs. Jeremy’s passion for teaching led him to earn a master’s degree in education. He went on to become the principal of Bell Intermediate Academy in Martinsville, a role he embraced with heart and purpose. After the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Jeremy made a career change and became a Territory Sales Manager for Koch Air in Indianapolis.

Jeremy remained a devoted fan of both IU and Notre Dame, following their sports programs closely. His sports idols were many, but no one topped his personal hero—his Uncle Jeff—whose life was tragically cut short. Jeff's memory inspired Jeremy every day.

Above all else, Jeremy’s greatest pride and deepest love was for his children: Hallee, Heath, Hanlee, and stepdaughter Raelyn Hayes. Their education and well-being were always his top priorities. He checked their grades daily and offered guidance and support whenever it was needed. He texted them throughout the day, stayed involved in their activities, and never missed an opportunity to be present in their lives.

Jeremy had an infectious laugh and a kind, generous heart. He never met a stranger, always willing to help, listen, or share a joke. In his free time, he coached baseball, watched movies—Jaws was a favorite—and cherished long conversations, especially with his dad. He found joy in the simple things and loved creating fun memories with his many cousins and close friends, who were more like siblings.

Although he eventually made his home in Plainfield, Jeremy’s heart always remained in Osgood. Whenever he had time to visit, he made every moment count. He will be especially missed by his mom, Monica, who will long for his calls and texts asking for advice or favorite recipes—especially her mac & cheese, cheese balls, or chili—as he tried to pass on family traditions to his own children.

Jeremy is survived by his loving parents, Gregg and Monica Ogden of Osgood; his children, Hallee, Heath, and Hanlee Ogden; and his stepdaughter, Raelyn Hayes. He is also survived by his grandmother, Eileen Ogden; his aunt, Cindy Bryan; many cousins; and close friends who were truly like family.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Ogden; grandparents, Harold and Sue Vankirk; great-grandmother, Edna Vankirk; and his beloved Uncle Jeff.

Visitation will be held on Sunday at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood, from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM.  Memorials may be given to the Ogden Children Education Fund being established in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be shared at nealsfuneralhome.net .

Jeremy’s love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy.
