Katherine Ogden Obituary

Katherine "Susanne" Ogden, 93, of Winona Lake, Indiana, died at 10:03 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Grace Village in Winona Lake. She was born on June 8, 1932, in Huntington County, Indiana, to Augustus Clay and Frieda E. (Wertenberger) Ogden.

Katherine was a 1950 graduate of Laketon High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Manchester College and later earned her master's degree in education from Ball State University. She taught for LaPorte County schools for several years, touching the lives of many students with her dedication and gentle spirit.

She attended both the Ijamsville United Methodist Church and the North Webster Methodist Church. Her profound dedication to religion, she studied and attended several prayer and bible study seminars and educational lectures. Katherine was a member of the Audubon Society and had a lifelong love of animals, especially her cats. She found great joy in bird watching and in spending time outdoors.

Katherine enjoyed wintering in Florida and spent her summers on Little Barbie Lake in North Webster, a place she cherished deeply. In her younger years on the farm, she proudly showed grand champion hogs at the Indiana State Fair-an accomplishment she remembered fondly.

She is survived by numerous extended family, and her best friend, Donna Lambert of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her parents.
