Jane graduated from Mishawaka High School and later attended Manchester College receiving her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She later received her master's degree in library sciences from Butler University. Jane married James Feit on August 26, 1967, in Mishawaka, IN.
Jane enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed time spent at the family lake cottage boating and swimming.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Jean Feit and Cathy (Kirby) Purciful; and three grandchildren, Emmaline; Ben; and Eli Purciful. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and brother, John Meengs.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the gathering at 1:00 p.m.
