Jeremy was born on January 19, 1984 in Andalusia, AL to Jimmie and Gloria (Thomas) Dortch.
Jeremy worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as a laborer for 22 years. He was a graduate at T.R. Miller High School, Brewton, AL where he was a star basketball player all four years. Jeremy loved to play basketball, fish, travel and watch sports. He enjoyed cutting hair. Jeremy took care of his family; especially his mom.
Jeremy leaves to cherish his most precious memories, his mother, Gloria Dortch; three sons, Jamirius Thomas, Timothus Whitney-Williams and Tyrion Whitney-Thomas all of Peoria, IL; one sister, LaKendra Thomas of Peoria; the mother of his children, Erika Whitney of Peoria, IL and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father; one brother, Ladereak Thomas and a daughter, Jerika Thomas.
A Memorial Celebration of Jeremy Antwan Thomas's remarkable life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at St. Luke MB Church, with a 10:30am Gathering. Pastor Benjamin Nicks will officiate.

I'm very sad to hear about Jeremy's passing. I met Jeremy at Caterpillar and we played ball together in the Cat league and also Gus Macker Tournament. Jeremy was a good guy and will be missed. I send my prayers and condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

I can only describe Jeremy as a gentle giant. He was a friend to everyone. I had the pleasure of being his friend/coworker for 19 years. I am heartbroken to hear of his passing. Rest easy my friend.

It saddens me so much to hear of Jeremy's passing. He was a great friend and coworker at Caterpillar.
I always admired and respected him as a person. He was truly one of the best. Please accept my deepest condolences and prayers to all of his family!
