Jerline Standridge, 93, of Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Jerline was born on July 12, 1932, in Hope, Arkansas to Lee and Viola Valentine. She met and then married Jay Standridge in Hope, Arkansas on March 6, 1948. They moved to Yountville, California and started their family.

Jay's new job with the Southern Pacific Railroad took them to Green Valley, California; Tolenas, California; Fairfield, California; Merced, California; San Antonio, Texas; Beeville, Texas; Laredo, Texas, and finally Alice, Texas. They shared a wonderful life together until Jay's passing April 5, 2013. They had been married for 65 years.

Jerline was a respected and loved member of the First Baptist Church in Alice, Texas. She also belonged to Eastern Star in Alice, Texas which she held several titles and was highly respected and loved.

After Jay's death, she moved to Spokane, Washington and did not hesitate to join the North Addison Baptist Church congregation. She immediately started volunteering to work in the kitchen and wherever she was needed. She was always crocheting hats with the lady's group and assisting those that needed help. Jerline was loved by all at the church.

Jerline is survived by her daughter, Brenda McCarty, Spokane, Washington and Son, Dennis Standridge(Debbie), Nine Mile Falls, Washington. She loved being "Meemaw" to her grandchildren; Melanie Reeves (Mark) Alice, Texas; Lee Standridge (Cory) Wentzville, Missouri; Heather Lampe (Timo) Azle, Texas; and Matthew Mullett (Kyle) Gainesville, Florida. Jerline also had a special place in her heart for her nine Great Grandchildren: Brittany Sisson (Mike) El Paso, Texas; Cody Reeves (Erika) Alice, Texas; Shelby Reeves, Alice, Texas; Tyler and Kaden Standridge, Wentzville, Missouri; Austin Grant, Dallas, Texas; Andrew Grant, Azle, Texas; Isabella Lampe, Wilmington, North Carolina and Kayla Mullett, Gainesville, Florida. Her heart was so big that she had room for her four Great-Great Grandchildren: Natalie and Cheyenne Sission, El Paso, Texas; Cooper and Connor Reeves from Alice, Texas.

Jerline was preceded in death by her father and mother Lee and Viola Volentine, brothers JB Volentine and Kelsey Volentine. Sisters, Erma Saenz, Sella Taylor, Della, Lorene Teeters, Pauline, Gladys Henson, and Pat Barnett.

We wish to thank the personnel at Spokane Hospice for their tender care of Jerline during her final days at home.
