Jerold B. "Jerry" Rolin

Lexington—Jerold “Jerry” B. Rolin passed away March 1, 2009 at 65 years old. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Reverend Joseph Borgkvist, Jr. of Cayce Baptist Church will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening and following the service Friday at the funeral home.

Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Bernard Belmont and Beatty Mae Williams Rolin. He grew-up and worked most of his life in the Columbia, West Columbia and Cayce areas, spending his retirement years in Cocoa Beach, Florida before moving back to Lexington. He was the retired former owner of two successful restaurants as well as a former professional private investigator for decades.

The beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle is survived by his widow, Linda H. Rolin; brother, Bill Rolin and wife, Barbara of Irmo; son, Jay Rolin and wife, Cindy of Lexington; daughter, Suzy Bumeder and husband, Bill of Summerville; son, Berny Rolin and wife, Dana of Greeneville, TN; as well as seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Known for his great sense of humor and ethics, Jerry loved life and was an avid deep sea fisherman, enjoyed walking beaches, Cocoa Beach and the Florida Keys, people watching and going to happy hour with friends. His family was the most important part of his life.

He will be missed and remembered by all who had met and loved him.
