Jerome C. "Jerry" Greico

1933 ~ 2025

Jerome "Jerry" C. Greico, 92, of Rome, NY, passed away, peacefully, on December 31, 2025, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 11, 1933, in Frankfort, NY, to the late Peter and Theresa (Maneen) Greico. Jerome married Marilyn J. Cummings on September 25, 1965, in Rome, NY. This past September they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family, a moment that stood as the high point of their life together. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in his early years. Jerome worked a variety of jobs throughout his life. Upon retiring, he took a job at Rome Savings Bank, which he really enjoyed before retiring again.

Jerome truly cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren. He especially loved to cook and bake for them and he was also known to bring food to his friends and coworkers. He had served as a Boy Scout Master for many years and had many hobbies. Jerome enjoyed golfing, playing bocce, gardening, refinishing furniture, going to garage sales, painting and generally being on the go.

Surviving are his loving wife, Marilyn J. (Cummings) Greico; children, Jeffrey (Debra) Greico, of Rome, NY, Julie (Michael) Hedding, of Rochester, NY, Jeannine (Russell) Swift, of Huntersville, NC and Peter Greico, of Rome, NY; grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Greico, Marissa and Brian Hedding, Andrew (Megan) Greico and Jessica (John) Giordano; great-grandchildren, Simon, Curtis, Natasha, Judy Giordano and Freya and Cordelia Greico; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Joanna Lloyd and Marie Donofrio; and many other relatives.

Relatives and friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, on Tuesday January 6, 2026, from 2-4 p.m., with a short eulogy to take place at 3:15 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at Carmichael Hill Cemetery.
