Jerome M. Hart, age 92 of Sandwich, IL passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at his home peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on a farm in DeKalb, IL on February 14, 1933 the son of George and Jean (McKnight) Hart.
He attended several grade schools in DeKalb graduating from Glidden grade school in 1947. That year, his mother moved him and his brothers, George and Roger to Aurora, Illinois where he attended East Aurora high School, graduating in 1951. After graduation, he worked at several factories in Aurora. Deciding that inside work wasn't for him, he got a job at Peter Wheat Bakeries, a door-to-door bakery route. In 1957 he started working for United Parcel Service through 1965. Jerry then worked in construction driving six-wheeler dump trucks for Feltes Sand and Gravel, T & R Construction and Harry W. Kuhn for 18 years until his retirement.
Mr. Hart was united in marriage on February 14, 1967 to Bunnie B. Zimmerman and they spent the next 58 years happily together. He and his wife Bunnie moved to Mesa, AZ in 1994 where they lived until 2008 when they moved back to IL, residing in Sandwich. Jerry was involved with Aurora Boys Baseball for several years and Apache Junction Little League in AZ. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Bunnie Hart of Sandwich, IL; his sons, William (Brenda) Hart of Pennsylvania, Jerome (Karla) Hart of Florida, Raymond (Jennifer) Hart of Illinois, Edwin (Hope) Hart of Arizona, Kathy Drake; his step-children, Richard Nelson of Wisconsin, Rhonda Mueller of Arkansas; his many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jean Hart; his son Brian Hart; two brothers, George and Roger Hart; and his son-in-law, Rod Mueller.
