Jerome “Jerry” Hagen, age 81, passed away peacefully at Sanford Medical Center surrounded by those who loved him.
Jerry was born on March 4, 1944, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Moorhead, MN and Sheldon, ND. He attended school in Moorhead, MN. Following school, he began his career of driving truck for SilverLine hauling boats cross country and then most notably Supervalu, where he drove truck for over 30 years before retiring in 2001 at the age of 57. Early in his career he also spent time in Colorado, and along the West Coast, but spent the majority of his life in Moorhead, where he raised his family.
Jerry was the proud father of three children, Christa, Jami, and Steven whom he raised in Moorhead. He later married Delphine, and they were together for over 40 years. From a young age, Jerry had a deep passion for cars. He enjoyed working on his classic cars and hotrods, attending car shows, and spending time in the garage. Jerry also valued time spent with his family, especially his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed attending hockey games, concerts, road trips, and family gatherings. Jerry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of family, and blunt, straightforward remarks that often brought a smile to those around him. Jerry is survived by his wife, Delphine; daughter Christa Hagen; son Steven (Ann) Hagen; and grandchildren Ethan, Collin, Cam, Mea, Rylie, Drew, and Saylor. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jami Nylander Hagen, and his beloved dog, Doogie.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 5-6:30 p.m. with a memorial service with Livestream beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
