Jerome (Jerry) Carl Kempinski passed into our Lord’s loving presence at the age of 83 on November 6, 2024. Loving and generous father of Scott Andrew Kempinski and Jason Allen Kempinski. Caring and devoted brother of Joyce R. Grunert. Fond uncle of Gregory A. Grunert. Loved father in-law of Gayle Kempinski (nee Paquin) and Alan Martin. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Helen, brother-in-law Neal Grunert, and many close relatives and friends.
Jerome was born in Milwaukee, WI. March 29, 1941. He graduated from Pulaski High School of Milwaukee, WI. He was a proud ‘South-sider’ who spent his fair share of time at Mazos and Leon’s. He served briefly in the US Marines before being honorably discharged and embarking on a 37 year career in the United States Postal Service. This journey culminated with his appointment as Postmaster in Greendale, WI.
Throughout his life his love for the outdoors was well served. He was an avid hunter and angler, and he shared this passion with his eldest son Scott for over 20 years. Whether hunting in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and the Western US, or fishing the lakes of the Manitowish chain, this was a passion he lived to the fullest. Additionally, accompanied by close friends, Jerry frequented Laughlin, NV on gambling junkets in hopes of hitting the big jackpot. He had a clear and compassionate demeanor, outweighed only by his generosity to family and friends.
Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (6060 W Loomis Rd., Greendale) on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place, following the church service, in St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Jerry's name to the St Alphonsus Catholic School.
