Jerome Kolpacke Obituary
Born August 22nd 1936 in Detroit.
Loving father to Michael (Dianne) Kolpacke and Stephen (Kris) Kolpacke. Loving grandfather to Stephanie (Joe) Sweet and Bryan Kolpacke.
Preceded in death by his parents Harry Kolpacke and Frances (Sitko) Kolpacke, wife Joan (Stadler) Kolpacke, second wife Beverly (Bryant) Kolpacke, and sister Christine (McCann) Kolpacke.
He was raised in Detroit and attended St. Leo's elementary and high schools where he was active in baseball, football and basketball.
He joined the US Air Force immediately after graduating from high school where he continued to play baseball, football and basketball at Dover AFB.
After proudly serving in the military, but still in the New Jersey/Delaware area, he met and married Joan.
After having Michael and Stephen, they returned to Detroit where he started working for Ford Motor Company as a buyer. He continued his lifetime passion of playing sports and included golf and squash. He retired from Ford after almost 30 years of service.
In addition to playing sports, he coached for youth baseball and football teams, attended numerous college and professional sport events, and later in life was active baseball and football research organizations. He was also an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying camping, canoeing and backpacking.
Visitation Friday 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Township) 54880 VanDyke at 25 Mile Rd. Instate Saturday 9:30am at St. Matthias Catholic Church until Mass, 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donation to Henry Ford Hospice are appreciated. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
