Jerome F. Minette

Jerome "Bud" Minette, age 84 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating and Rev. Dick McGuire concelebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Jerome Frank Minette was born January 30, 1925 in Sauk Centre to George and Mary (Zenzius) Minette. On October, 5, 1954 he was united in marriage to Lucille Arens at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Padua, Minnesota. Bud farmed all his life on the family farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the wildlife in his backyard, feeding the birds and gambling at the casino. Bud also loved to play with his great-grandchildren.Bud was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Bishop Joseph F. Busch Council #4863 Knights of Columbus, and the Sauk Centre Conservation Club. Bud is survived by his children, Julie (Bob) Mayers of Melrose and Jerry (Maria) Minette of Sauk Centre; grandchildren, Shawn (Stephanie) Mayers, Sara (fiancé Josh Peterson) Mayers, Michael Mayers, Melissa (Duane) Dirkes, Marcus (Jessica) Minette, Teresa (fiancé Landon Leischner) Minette, and Jill Minette; great-grandchildren, Jackson Mayers, and Dylan and Kaylie Dirkes; sisters, Leona Bromenshenkel, Mary Mae (Virden) Olson, Millie Rieland, Bernice Proell, Delphine (Bennie) Nietfield, and Shirley (Jim) Marthaler. Jerome was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille on November 18, 2003; and grandson, Scottie Mayers in April of 1981. Serving as casket bearers will be his grandchildren, Shawn and Stephanie Mayers, Sara Mayers and fiancé Josh Peterson, Michael Mayers, Melissa and Duane Dirkes, Marcus and Jessica Minette, Teresa Minette and fiancé Landon Leischner, and Jill Minette. Cross bearer will be Sara Mayers and scripture bearer will be Jill Minette. Honorary casket bearers will be Leona Bromenshenkel, Mary Mae and Virden Olson, Millie Rieland, Bernice Proell, Delphine and Bennie Nietfield, and Shirley and Jim Marthaler.
