Jerome Thuss Obituary
Jerry was born September 19, 1929 in Manitowoc, son of the late Clarence and Regina (Schrader) Thuss. He served in the United States Air Force from February 14, 1947 until his Honorable Discharge on February 15, 1950 from Chinute Air Force Base, IL. Jerry was united in marriage to the former Carol Meisner on November 5, 1965 in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on May 27, 2005.
Jerry was a firefighter with the Manitowoc Fire Department for 30 years until his retirement on January 17, 1985 reaching the rank of Captain. He enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing, golf, camping at Little Silver Lake, softball for Parker's Pink Elephants and riding bikes with his dear friend Romy. The last several years Jerry enjoyed puzzles and casino time with his girls.
Jerry is survived by his children: Debbie (Jim) Ackley, Manitowoc, Mary McClanaghan, Manitowoc, Jeff Thuss, Manitowoc, Dayn (Stacey) Meisner, CA, Eric (Pam) Meisner, Manitowoc, Michelle Thuss, Shawano, Marla (Roger) Hanson, MT, Melissa (Greg) Grassman, Green Bay; grandchildren: Michelle Ackley, Trystan Meisner, Trevor (Gabrielle) Meisner, Haley Meisner, Jeremy (Nicole) Meisner, Erica Proehl, Ryan Meisner, Billy Hilley, Danielle Hilley, Alicia LaCrosse, and Dalton LaCrosse; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Regina Thuss, his wife Carol Thuss, son Jeffrey Jay Meisner, brothers Eugene Thuss, Richard Thuss, one grandson Jacob Hanson and one sister-in-law Rita Thuss.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and Private Family services were held. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com
The Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Pfeffer Funeral Home location, is assisting the Thuss family with arrangements.
