Rita Thuss Obituary
Manitowoc - Rita M. Thuss, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation, Manitowoc.
Rita was born on May 6, 1931 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Victor and Josephine (Betka) Wleczyk. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1949. On July 31, 1949 she married Eugene E. Thuss in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1994. Together they owned and operated Manitowoc Sign Company. Rita enjoyed flower gardening, photography, music, reading, and traveling, but above all else, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her two sons: Mike Thuss (Suzze), Two Rivers; Mark Thuss, Mesa, AZ; four daughters: Tammy (Alan) Matte, Cato; Candy Thuss, Manitowoc; Dawn (Paul) Kaufmann, Manitowoc; Tracy Licht, Two Rivers; ten grandchildren: Mike (Corey) Thuss, Jr., Nicole (Jason) Haneiwich, Jennifer Thuss (Matt Hoeltke), Chris (Nicole) Matte, Auburn (Pat) Burt, Amanda (Brad) Belongia, Amber (Travis) Preston, Jacob Kaufman (fiancée Cassie), Dustin Licht (fiancée Emilia), Gabrielle Licht (fiancé Joey); 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Richard Thuss and Jerome Thuss. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She is preceded in death by: her parents: Victor and Josephine Wleczyk, husband: Eugene Thuss; sister: Dorothy (Duane) Gannon; brothers: Anthony Wleczyk, James (Sandra) Wleczyk.
Private family services will take place and Rita will be laid to rest at Calvary Catholic Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
