Jerome A. "Jerry" Walden

Jerome "Jerry" A. Walden, 94, passed away at home on Monday, July 29th, 2024.
He was born January 9th, 1930 to Lawrence and Lydia Walden of Sleepy Eye, MN. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Era and retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a Life Member of the American Legion, Post 28 New Albany, IN, and a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he had served as Financial Secretary and Head Usher.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; stepfather, Wolfgang Brey; half-brother, Ted Mattison; brothers, James, Lawrence, Vernard, and George Walden; sisters, Lorraine Schewe and Alice Roberts; and son-in-law, Karl Horner.
Jerry is survived by; his loving wife of 57 years, June (Atkins) Walden; sons, Steven "Steve" Walden (JuYun) of Woodbridge, VA and James "Jim" Walden (Michelle) of Charlestown, IN; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Horner of New Ulm, MN; Eight grandchildren; Seven great grandchildren; and Four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, August 2nd from 9 AM – 11 AM. Funeral Service will be at 11 AM with burial to follow at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN.
The family asks that contributions be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1787 Klerner Lane, New Albany, IN.
