Jerrel Terrell

Jerrel Dewayne Terrell entered eternity of natural causes on July 26th, 2025, at his residence in Birmingham, AL. He was 67 years old. Jerrel was born August 17th, 1957 to Arthur Bryant and Mary Irene Terrell. Jerrel was preceded in death by his father Arthur Bryant Terrell, mother Mary Irene Terrell, two bonus daughters Tammy Pursley and Shelly Jones. One granddaughter Shelly (Pooch) Terrell. Some of his favorite activities were bungee jumping, Alabama football, fishing, spending time with loved ones, talking shop, and drinking coffee. Jerrell's passion was fixing cars. He was a wealth of knowledge and arguably one of the best known mechanics. Jerrel owned several mechanic shops between Fort Payne, AL and Cleveland, TN; eventually ending up at home in Henagar, AL as the owner of Henagar Transmission Shop. Jerrel is survived by his brother Willard Terrell (Gwen). One son Mikey Terrell (Jennifer), two bonus sons Jimmy (Sam) Ramey (Brandi), and Duane Adams. One bonus daughter Deanna Benefield (Robbie). Several grandchildren Rebekah Terrell (Caleb), Mikel Andre Terrell, Alyssa Terrell, Brianna Terrell, Becky Swafford (Mitch), Shasta Terrell, Jonathan Adams (Brittany), Brittiny Adams (Tony), and Jennifer (trash bag) Rooks. Jerrell also leaves several great grandchildren and many other family and friends that will sadly miss him. Jerrel chose to live his life displaying love through his actions. His presence will be missed but his legacy will live on through us as we impact the lives of others from the lessons we learned from him. Please join us as we remember Jerrel (Pop) Terrell on Saturday August 16th, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. till 2:00 P.M. at Kerby Funeral Home located at 17554 AL Hwy 75, Henagar, AL 35978. Service will begin at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel with Jimmy Ramey officiating. Burial will follow immediately after service at New Home Cemetery located at 3325 Co Rd 120, Valley Head, AL 35989.
