Jerrold "Jerry" Zanzi Schluer

San Francisco, California, on February 14, 1942, Jerrold "Jerry" Zanzi Schluer was called home by his Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 7, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lina Schluer.
He was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Una. He is survived by his loving children, Charlotte Camara (Dave), Sheila Brandley, Jennifer Ender (Jason), and Stephen Schluer (Thaera). He was a proud grandfather to Christopher, Nathan, Jennifer, Paul, Tyler, Ryan, Mathew, Hannah, Lela, and Collins, and a cherished great-grandfather to eight wonderful great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Bacigalupi and is leaving behind many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Jerry grew up in San Francisco until the age of ten, when his family moved to the Willow Glen District of San Jose. He attended Santa Clara University, where he played baseball, and later earned his master's degree from Sacramento State. Jerry was a resident of Manteca for 61 years.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, completing two years of active duty followed by four years in the reserves.
Jerry dedicated 41 years of service to Souza Development as their Chief Financial Officer, where he was admired for his integrity, professionalism, and leadership.
A man of unwavering faith, Jerry was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon alongside his wife and remained deeply involved in church life. His deep and steadfast relationship with Jesus Christ was evident in all he did, and even just a few days before he went Home to his Heavenly Father, he faithfully spent time in his daily devotions.
Jerry enjoyed investing and studying the stock market and had a sharp analytical mind. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and enthusiastically supported his children and grandchildren in all their pursuits. Jerry took great pride in being the best husband and father he could be. He proudly carried the title "Papa" and loved his grandchildren dearly. He also cherished the companionship of his little dog, Mollie Leilani, who brought him great joy.
He loved traveling with his wife, especially to Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, and Pismo Beach. A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Jerry was a devoted fan of the San Francisco Giants. He also enjoyed playing softball well into his mid-50s and proudly hit the very first home run at Northgate Park in Manteca.
Jerry loved his wife fiercely and missed her deeply after her passing. He will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, faith, and enduring love for his family. His memory will live on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
