Age 71 of New Lenox passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born in Chicago Heights, IL to the late Elmer and Pearl (nee Roesner) Tegtmeyer.
Beloved husband of Denice (nee Griffin) Tegtmeyer; loving father of Michael (Mareike) Tegtmeyer, Margaret (David) Killoy, Jeri (David Kelso) Tegtmeyer, Douglas (Beth) Caldwell, and Robert (Heather) Caldwell; cherished grandfather of Kevin (Jana) Tegtmeyer, Tristan Tegtmeyer, Jeremy Killoy, Margaret Killoy, and Thomas Killoy, Emilee Caldwell, Lauren Caldwell, Katy Caldwell, Brooklynne Caldwell, Jessica Caldwell, Daniel Caldwell, and Robert Caldwell; proud great grandfather of Louisa Tegtmeyer, Kellin Caldwell, and Elliot Caldwell; dear brother of the late William Tegtmeyer; loved uncle of Emily Tegtmeyer; cousin and friend of many.
Jerry was a retired mechanic for Republic Services (formerly Skyline Disposal). He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jerry will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 4:00 pm until Memorial Service at 7:00 pm.
