Jerroldine Fay Grebin, 87, of Sparta, WI, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, WI. She was born March 31, 1935, in Plainfield, WI, to the late Jerrold and Viola (Elliott) Ostrander, the third child and first daughter of eight children. On October 8, 1955, she married her best friend, David H. Grebin. They were married in her mom's home in Plainfield, WI.
Jerroldine was a hard worker and worked for many area businesses; but her favorite jobs were that of a wife, and mother. She and David were together in everything that they did and they did this all while holding hands walking side by side. As a mom, Jerroldine was not only a good sweet listener; she was a fun mom who was like one of the kids while they were growing up. She taught them all to really look at and love trees and flowers, especially roses. She showed them the beauty of tomatoes, the love of reading and roller-skating. She was a loving teacher, comforter and hero to her family.
Jerroldine loved the Lord and raised their family in a Christian home, which was very important to her. Her faith was strong and guided her during the good and bad times. This faith was also instilled into her children, and she taught them by years of reading Bible story's out loud and by setting a good example. She was a peacemaker and the center of her whole families world. She had a spunk and sassiness that would not go away even in sickness. Jerroldine always put everyone before herself. She meant the world to so very many people. Her strength, courage and most importantly her genuine love for her family will be deeply missed.
Jerroldine is survived by her son, Henry and his wife Vicky Grebin; four daughters, Susan "Susie" Grebin, Wanda Harmon, Violita Grebin, and Mary Scott; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; Brothers and sisters, Otis (Bonnie) Ostrander, Squire (Diane) Ostrander, and Susan (Gene) Shade; sister-in-law Ruth Ostrander; along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jerrold and Viola Ostrander; husband David, 9 months ago; an infant son, Daniel Paul Grebin; one granddaughter, Melissa Jean; siblings: Merle (Nancy) Ostrander, Orv (Verle) Ostrander, Catherine (Ray) Harcus, and Richard Ostrander.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 3, 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Sparta. Pastor Mike Ohman will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held in the Highland Memory Garden Cemetery, 3054 County RD BB, Madison, WI 53718, Monday, June 6, at 1:00 p.m.
