Jerry Allen, 78, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at G.V. Sonny Montgomery V. A. Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, and 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Yockanookany Cemetery. Rev. Gayle Pope and Rev. James Culpepper will officiate the services.
Jerry was born October 23, 1946, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to Robert William Allen and Dorothy McKay Williamson Allen. He was a member of Yockanookany Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. Jerry started cutting hair in 1969. In 1989, he bought a barber shop known as Jerry’s Barber Shop and cut many men's and children’s hair until retirement.
Jerry is survived by his nephews, Robert (Beth) Allen of Kosciusko, Mississippi, William (Ashley) Allen of Kosciusko, Mississippi, and Doug (Walisha) Allen of Texas; his niece, Christy Allen of Tupelo, Mississippi, and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Allen and Dorothy Williamson Allen, and his brothers, Larry Allen and Robert Allen.
