Britton, SD: The funeral service for Jerry Amerman will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at First Lutheran Church of Britton. Pastor Jesse Carson will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Britton Cemetery with military honors.

Jerry Amerman was born April 6, 1944 in Stirum, ND to Rozair Joseph and Alida Sophia (Bartl) Amerman. After graduating high school he went on to serve his country in the US Army Artillery Branch for several years.

On September 8, 1990 he married Lori A. Beck of Britton, where they made their home.

His main career consisted of working at multiple elevators: Cogswell, Forman and Britton. After many years of dedicating his time to the elevator, he decided to change his workplace to Truss Pros in Britton. For a few years, he also helped in the school kitchen washing the kids plates. After retirement, he enjoyed living at the lake in the summer and mowing lawn for the SD State Game Fish and Parks.

Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting and going on walks with his two favorite companions Chloe and Phoebe. He also liked playing cards and board games. He helped Lindsey in Marshall County Sharp Shooters and went to Nationals with her to Bowling Green, KY. Over the years he helped with delivering flowers for the flower shop. His favorite place to be was at the lake, whether enjoying time out on the water or spending time at their cabin.

Jerry passed away Friday August 8, 2025 at Primrose Memory Care Cottages in Aberdeen, SD at the age of 81.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lori; his children, Lindsey (Douglas) Bremmon, Chris Amerman, Sara (Brian) Rasmus and Sarah Thompson; seven grandchildren: Rylan, Waylon, Nathan, Caden, Mackenzie, Simon and Elli; one brother, Bill (Roz) Amerman; brother-in-law, Keith Beck; sister-in-law, Chaundra (Dan) Neiber; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Proceeding him in death are his parents; his sister, Anna; brothers, Jack and Freeman; his fishing partner/father-in-law Kenny Beck and mother-in-law Janice Beck.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to be given to Marshall County Ambulance – PO Box 130 - Britton, SD 57430.

Condolences may be directed to Lori Amerman – 42231 111th St. – Britton, SD 57430.
