Jerry Clifford Barnette, age 77 of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Hamilton Medical Center.
Jerry was born on January 2, 1948, in Gordon County, son of the late William Clifford Barnette and Ruby Jo Rickett Barnette. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Short Barnette; and brothers, Ricky Barnette, Sam Barnette, Larry Barnette. Jerry worked in construction, which is why you would always find him fixing or working on something. He also loved spending time in his garden.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Levi Clifford Barnette (Shana Smith) and Devon Roy Barnette; sister, Linda Chastain; 3 grand children, Conner Orion Barnette, Levi Charles Barnette, and Shawn A. Barnette; and one great-grand child, Kian Barnette.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM, from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Peace and Rev. Greg Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
