Jerry Begay

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved, Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Son, Jerry Begay Sr., 50 of Dzilth -na-o-dith-hle, who left us on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Lovelace Medical Center, Albuquerque NM. Born on March 8, 1975 in Shiprock, NM to Charles Begay Sr. and Alice Mae Begay. He was born into Todich'inii (Bitter Water Clan) and born for Nakai Dine (Mexican People Clan). Jerry was a pillar of strength and kindness to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his heart of gold and kindness, caring, and jokes, which he shared freely with everyone. Jerry grew up in Dzilth na o dith hle community and attended Dzilth na o dith hle school, Mesa Alta Jr. High, and Bloomfield High and also attended Kicking Horse Job Corp. Jerry worked with various companies in the Farmington and surrounding area. He worked for Navajo Agriculture Products Industry (NAPI), J&M Baling Inc, Keystone Oilfield Fabrication LLC, and other Oilfield companies in the area. His hobbies included spending time with his family, loved ones, wife, children and grandchildren. He liked being outdoors, enjoyed fishing with his children, working on vehicles, always teaching his children new things. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's games, loved watching football. Jerry always had jokes to say and enjoyed cookouts with family and friends. He was always the first to plan family gatherings. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Charles Begay Sr. (2000), and brothers, Baldwin Begay (2005), Charles Begay Jr. (2018), Grandparents: Largo and Es Das Bah Begay, Roy and Anna Begay. Jerry leaves behind his wife Elaine Begay (Castillo), children: Jeremiah D. Begay, Amadeus Begay, Trustin Begay, Jerry Begay Jr., Shanamiah Begay, Nethias Begay, 5 grandchildren, Mother: Alice Mae Begay, Siblings: Benny C. Begay, Gary Begay, Judy Werito, Dora Tom, Darrin Begay, and many other loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11 am at Cope Memorial Chapel, Farmington NM. Followed by burial at Brethren in Christ Mission, Otis NM, Reception following at BIC gymnasium.
