Stanberry, MO: Jerry L. Boatwright, 84, of Stanberry, MO passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 at a Stanberry, MO nursing home.
Jerry was born December 20, 1939 in Alanthus Grove, Missouri the son of John and Lula (Jennings) Boatwright.
He graduated from Stanberry High School in 1957.
On October 12, 1957, he married Doretha Giffin at the Baptist Church in Alanthus Grove, MO. She survives of the home.
Jerry owned and operated Alldredge Feed and Grain in Stanberry for nearly 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the Stanberry Masonic Lodge #109 A.F. & A.M. and the St. Joseph Moila Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Leland, Marvin and Johnny Boatwright; 2 sisters, Verna Simmons and Ila Motzkus; grandson, Jared Boatwright and great-grandson, Dayun Boatwright.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Doretha are 4 sons, James (Cindy) Boatwright, Stanberry, MO, Daryl Lee Boatwright, Bethany, MO, Scott Boatwright, Stanberry, MO and Jerald Boatwright, St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Janet Betts, Stanberry, MO; 8 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Ruby Gregory, Stanberry, MO and numerous nieces and nephews..
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO. Private Family Burial will be in the Jennings Cemetery, Alanthus Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Shriner's Children's Hospital in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, Stanberry, MO 64489.
