Jerry Bollinger, 71, of Buffalo City, WI, passed away peacefully at Gundersen Care Center in Harmony, MN on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
Jerry was born on March 9, 1951, in Winona, MN, to Merlin and Verna Bollinger. Jerry graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School in 1970. Jerry worked construction for Hutson Builders in Buffalo City, WI, was a boat mechanic for Great River Harbor in Alma, WI, and was a machine mechanic for the former Fusion Coating in Winona, MN.
Jerry loved Hot Rods and Motorcycles. He was gifted at restoring older cars and bringing them back to a like new condition. He completed multiple projects over the years and could often be found cruising in one of his favorites or hanging out in his garage with friends and family. An avid enthusiast he spent summers attending the Drag Races at Rock Falls Raceway in Rock Falls, WI, the Hill Climbs in Bay City WI or Redwing MN, at the dirt track River Raceways in Fountain City WI, and at many car shows locally. He often traveled to the Twin Cities to attend Back to the 50’s and the Street Rod Nationals (when it was in town). An accomplished motorcyclist Jerry commuted to work on two wheels daily in the summer and took multiple road trips via motorcycle with friend, Larry Muench as far as Canada and Sturgis, SD.
Jerry is survived by his nephew Jesse Bollinger; niece Amy Herendeen (Bollinger); nephew Jeff Muench; niece Lorie Voelz (Muench); sister-in-law Marilyn Bollinger; stepmother, Barbara Bollinger.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Merlin & Verna Bollinger; sister, Nancy Muench; brother, Tom Bollinger.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Hope United Church of Christ in Cochrane at 11 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to services, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow services at the Buffalo City Cemetery with a funeral lunch to follow at Hope United Church of Christ.
Talbot Family Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements. Rev. Deb Kunkel, Hope UCC, will be the officiating clergy.
