Jerry Wayne "Punk" Boothe, age 73, of the Moccasin section of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away on Monday June 10, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1950, in Russell County, Virginia, the son of the late John Robert and Ella Lucille Jordan Boothe.
He was of the Baptist faith and attended Old Path Independent Church. Punk enjoyed farming and loved spending time socializing with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Jessee and brother, Bobby Boothe.
Survivors include his sisters, Anna Ruth "Sis" King and Mary Lou Browning and husband Charlie, special friend and caregiver, Inez Crabtree and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Jerry Fuller will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Scotty Perkins, Rev. Virgil Musick, and Rev. Ted Rasnake officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the Gray Cemetery on Clinch Mountain Road in Lebanon. Those wishing to follow in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
